I just need to cut a bellhousing hump next weekend. And the tunnel needs to be taller behind the e-brake handle. I'm gunna attempt to use the festiva front suspension after looking at the mustang a bit more. I need to find a rack i can mount in front of the engine crossmember. And flip the festiva spindles side to side so it steers from a forward position insted of the rear. Next weekend the goal is to get the tranny hump finished and possibly get a engine crossmember built.

If you decide to go away from stock up front I'd look into the miata setup, nice and compact and everything critical locates to a sub frame you just have to mount that.

                      18" wheels like a boss!

These are from my svo also.
                      Rear 275-35-18
                      Front 245-35-18
                      They are staggered motegi wheels
Brand new, spent 1500$ on them so i figured i should use the darn things!
Im gunna need to flare the rear and front 1.75" to fit and tuck a bit. They shal work! Im pretty sure nobody had done 18's before?

I got 265 16" for the rear on the shogun , I think 18" on such a small car is stretching it. Other then that , I love the build , keep us posted.

yeah they are pretty big but if i can tuck them then the car
will be 1" taller than with the 195-60-14's. I've done so much measuring my heads gunna explode! I was gunna get some metal today but seems nobody is open :-( im gunna make the trans mounts and engine mounts before i finish the sheet metal work up.

Does anybody know if a miata has forward steer knuckles ?

I don't think you'll be able to flip the Festy knuckles, the caster will be WAYYYY off. Not sure on the Miata, but I'm doubting it. I'd look at maybe swapping the pan for a Ranger (I think they're front sump) or modding it so you can get a rear rack in there.

I'd look at moving the engine and trans back some, not sure how you'll fit a radiator in there. You can possibly use the trans tunnel out of the Mustang, or if you're selling it, cut one from a yard.

The engine sits far too low and the rack will bind up if its in the rear. Im gunna have to do some junk yard searching this weekend i guess and figure it out.
