Ah, i presume at 300hp it is no longer a B3 either.
Other than it breaking all the time that sounds like fun, Do you have a post on here describing what you've done to your car?

I dont know, mine would go past 7200 if i kept the pedal down, but i dont want to try it. I dont think any of them had rev limiters? What happens when you get to 6k?

I see from your build thread that you have a different motor in your festiva, you are talking about the bp right? I know nothing about them, sorry.

Part 2 is coming soon. I will also answer many of the questions I've missed. Most of the information is already on this site in other threads that I've written, or responded to. I just haven't compiled it into one writeup. This development has been 5 years in the making, and now includes a few brilliant minds with more experience than I have. We are still working on development and refinement of both a street performance setup and a full blown time attack car. Though, I don't typically offer any of the parts I make for sale, I do give detailed instructions for building these setups in the "Advanced Suspension Modifications". I also do my best to answer people individual questions for their application. I believe that a car is much more fun to drive when you fully understand the vehicle, rather than just bolting the coolest new parts to it.
Stay tuned for the next installment of The Festiva Advantage!

I have some experience building and preppping an IPRA car, and to be honest a Festiva would be nowhere in that category.

The rule book is quite convoluted. You can' t race a turbo'd festiva (only factory turbo'd cars are allowed, unless the car is pre-1986). There is a minimum weight requirement if the car doesn't run the original type block and head. Can't flare the guards (external profile must remain standard) so the biggest tyre you could run would be a 195/50/15 whereas all the competition are running 225/50/15 on an 8 inch rim. Rear beam sucks and can't be changed (original suspension pickup points must remain). Even McPherson strut front suspension is considered undesirable, compare to the double wishbone the EG Civic has, due to the camber change throughout travel.

If I thought I had a chance to be competitive I would build my Festiva for it, but alas, that is why I have an AE86 in the shed.

Original type block...? Please explain further.

You can bore and stroke a B3 block as much as you like. It doesn't have to be the exact original block the car came with, but must be the same "type", which means it must come from the same casting. So if you substituted a B6 block for a B3 block (taller deck height on the B6 I assume) the car would have a minimum weight including driver of 965kg. Same with changing from a SOHC to DOHC head.

So you could race a Festiva with a fully worked B6 DOHC engine, but it would have to weigh 965kg. About the same as a Civic, except the Civic would have a B16A, better suspension design, wider track, bigger tyres.

Or you could race a Festiva with a bored/stroked B3 block and SOHC 8 valve head and make it as light as you can. And you would get lapped in a 10 lap race.

2127 lbs ? That's still pretty light. I would build it rather then make it lighter. These cars are amazing on the track with just a few mods and race rubber I really doubt the festiva suspension is any worse then the civic yiu don't see many civics running down supercars will 500 dollar suspensions.

Are you allowed to change to a different engine from the same manufacturer?
