Re: My n/a super b3 build

My heat was always really good and is still the same... As far as time to warm up, seems around the same to me, this engine has always warned up pretty quick. Biggest thing I noticed with cold is that with the large cam it doesn't like the cold starts quite as much but some of that I think is my carb tuning

I will also say this... Video just doesn't do it justice, when you ride in it or drive it... It will blow you away, Milton havoc went for a ride in it with me even before I could go past 4000 rpm and he had a huge smile

My only question is does your heat blow hotter in the cold now and does it warm up quicker?

Thanks now all I need is a dickmeyer intake to help the top end

When drumnerd33 contacted me regarding his B3 build, he had 3 equal goals.....zero maintenance, longevity & increased power. A focus on any 1 aspect of this will overshadow the other. Considering reusing stock rods, bi-metal bearings & OE cast pistons, a self imposed of 6,000 RPM limit was wisely chosen. So focusing on power production above that limit would have only hindered performance below peak torque. From what I see, it looks like it has been a successful build. Keep in mind also the intake manifold will cause this engine to lay over at the top end. It would be much like putting an Edlebrock Performer Low Rise Intake on a NASCAR engine. Looking forward to seeing it on a dyno or at the track. EXCELLENT WORK!!

    DYNO!!!!!
I can't wait! Really want to get that head work done on mine. Need numbers to justify the cost.

I don't know about the carb models, but the EFI has a rev limiter anyway. It's not about RPM anyway, it's about area under the curve and a broad flat torque curve. Can't wait to see a dyno chart!

Every time i used to hit a steep hill it was like downshift and then if it was long downshift again to 3rd.... now i can power right through the hill likes its nothing.

Thats awesome to hear! I know I had to downshift sometimes to maintian speed on some of the steeper hills.

Its got so much more power now, when i drove it up to go snowboarding it went up the hills easy now... no more downshifting and hoping you can keep it at 40 to 50 mph..lol i was able to hold 60 -70 with no problem.
