Yeah I think 7K is safe for acceleration purposes. Probably wouldn't want to keep it there for any time. Not planning on entering it in any 24-hour races. Matt sez the weakest link in the bottom end is the rod bolts, but also that ARP could probably hook us up with better ones if we felt the need.
@rmoltis: Good thoughts, but Festy motors in general seem to be overengineered, so I feel comfortable with a few more revs. The fuel cutoff limit and red zone on the tach reflect the capabilities of a stock motor, which signs off at about 5500 RPM. This motor seems to be still building power at 6200 or so when the fuel cuts off.
I would like to see B6D rod bolts compared to Festy ones. The D has the higher rev limit too.
