I didn't use the Factory mounts, They are the Capri ones. Can't go any lower or the tranny will hit the Crossmember. The crossmember is already lowered to just before hitting the swaybar.

Yes sir the brackets were perfect. Thanks for them. The seats are mounted, welded, etc. just waiting on my cousin to redo the upholstery on the MR2 seats with the factory Festiva covers. She works at JPM Coachworks She closed her business in WV to go to work for these guys. They actually came to her.

You can trim sheet metal out of the center of X-Member.It allows you to drop the tranny even lower without affecting the strength. That Capri mount has the same TALL 1 1/2" perch as a Festy. Aspire mounts dont have any perch, they sit much lower.Doesn't matter though, your getting them powder coated.I tried mounting my first "Custom" rubber front mounts flat not angled like you did.Maybe you'll have better success than me...Looks awesome so far, love the carbon fiber trans plat btw.

        • Gomez, I have some mounts for sale. I will take a picture of the low one tomorrow in the sunshine and post it in the today's goody thread.

          • Could always do what JT did and make a custom tubular crossmember...

            • At this point the tranny is about 1/4" off the drivers rail. Overall the combo is 3/4" lower and 2" forward of where the b3 was positioned. With the top strut mounts positioned inward for more negative camber I have a little bind on the passenger axle when topped out. I left a little wiggle room in the mounts to move it all closer to the frame rail, but don't really want to do that. My next step is to try and get it a little lower like Nitro said but using the Capri mounts since they are stiffer and have the center hole offset about 10mm lower than a stock Festiva one. Not too keen on trimming metal out of the crossmember if not absolutely necessary. If I do I will have to gusset it up for strength but then again I don't really want it to look cobbled together. Has to look clean and appear somewhat stock. If all of this doesn't make me happy my next step is...

...since that was the original plan anyway. My only problem is a lack of a tubing bender.

              • I am going to try and lower the rear of the cross member about 1/2" or so, and lower my front plate a little and maybe add a little forward angle to it. Since the passenger mount is done and looking really good I will try to shim it another 1/2" down and see what happens. If it all works then I guess I will have to make another passenger one w/o the shims.

                • I have a custom crossmember design in my mind, it involves getting some fancy laser cut pieces

                      • Shimming it down worked really nice. Based on using the original b3 passenger mount it now sits down 1" and forward 2" from stock. Final resting place!!!! woohoo. Now it is time to tear them all out clean them up and talk to Rocketman to see about making a custom "cast" set of mounts based on mine. Hopefully not too pricy.

The new Festiva drums will hopefully be the right ones. I will find out tomorrow at lunch if they are. If so they will also go to Matt along with the crank pulley for some quality machinework. At this point if the new drums don't work I will have no choice but to move ahead with the 'hybrid' Aspire swap. shadetree has a swap that he says is a little rusty for what I am doing but if they aren't too bad I do have a blaster and there is a powdercoater just down the road.

My seats are now at JPM Coachworks instead of at my Cousin's upholstery shop. She took a job with this up-and-coming high end shop and is currently working on them with some seasoned pro's. She says they are going to be awesome.

I also get the Pride fenders and clear corners. They are rough but have no rust and are definitely fixable.

I have been looking into radiators and intercoolers. Civic 1/2 length is what everyone is recommending so that is a no brainer. As far as the FMIC goes I am hoping to be able to work on ideas stolen from Hot_Wheels's build and some ideas from Damkid. Mishimoto has a rad and an i/c that should fit nicely and isn't really to pricey given the quality.

A bunch of other small things have been done but most of my time (waiting on funds to build up) is doing research for the next purchase. I will post some more updates with pics when some cool stuff gets done or comes in.
