I disconnect the electric side of my idle valve and just use the coolant side and my idle bypass screw on my throttle body. That idle valve may be like the ones on the JDM b6t manifolds. If it is, it's the same as the early usdm 323 b6 (like 85 or 86 iirc)
It also just occurred to me that your ignition timing may be at fault for the mixture being off. You can't trust the marks on the pulley to set timing. I know I've seen whacky fuel curves with the ignition timing being off.
