  • I finally got to spend some time in the garage last night.

My exhaust is well under way. I will be remaking it after madness tho. This being my 1st attempt means it might work but it looks like junk. I will get a good working exhaust to get me through madness and a few little projects after Lucifer. Once i have a few projects out of the way i will remake the exhaust.

My future plan is to use a manual cutout. I want the manual cutout so i can still run my hater pipe out of the fender and still have a normal exhaust when i need some quite time. It should workout pretty good. Ill go with manual and have the knob mounted to the dash. Might do a funny sticker around the knob or something stupid. I cant wait for that but 1st i need a bit more practice with my welder.

Gonna buy a ton of scrap exhaust pipe and just weld weld weld.

Last night i have to cut the relief hole for the wastegate. I then welded my ugly elbow to the plate in the correct orientation. Tonight i have make some clearance to allow for the mounting bolts to clear. I also have to cut the elbow to allow the pipe for the wastegate to tie back into it. I dont think ill have time to get any more then that done tho. Looks like ill have to finish the exhaust up on friday.

    • I got my 1st Corbeau seat in and i love it.

I placed the order for the 2nd seat already. I should have it by the start of next week. Which means ill have to be busy if i want them in by madness. They are very comfy! Maybe not comfy after a 10 hour drive to madness but comfy to and from work and around town. I wont have my harness bar built by then so ill have my belts mounted to wrong way straight to the floor. Might leave the normal belts in until after madness!

      • did you use their sliders? did you consider the recliners, for DD, ? keep us updated on harness bar!

        • Yes i bought their double locking sliders. They had the drivers side bracket. They could not find the jig for the passenger side tho. I bought the universal bracket tho. All ill have to do is fab up a couple small brackets and drill a couple holes. Ill weld my brackets to the universal bracket. I have the drivers side as a perfect left hand template tho.

I didnt want recliners! This car is meant to be raw and a race ready street car. When others get in it i want them to grab the harness belts out of fear! And i might not have the harness bar in by madness!

            • exhaust is built! Looks like trash but it might get me by. I have gotten much better at welding lately so when i remake the exhaust i think i can do 10x better.

My spot welds were way way to heavy. It made everything go to crap. Once i got the spot welds down i moved on to doing circles. I have now gotten that down. My newest welds look rather good for being flux core and exhaust pipe. So i now move on to getting the new wiring harness hooked up. I pulled my old harness off and will replace with my other harness that is not cut up. Lots to do so i gotta get busy.

              • New b6t harness is hooked up. I now have to run to town to go get food and hang out with the wife but ill be back out there tonight. I wont be ready to turn the key tonight but i should have it going tomorrow. Gotta do some small stuff like finish mounting the radiator, mount the battery, mount the vaf box.

Wiring is a wreck! As long as it works i dont care at this point. When i get time to go to the MS system ill make sure to wire tuck it all as much as i can. Later this year or maybe start of next year im gonna have to pull the engine bay apart and clean t and paint it right. Looks like poo right now.

anyway im getting very close now!

                • The radiator is mounted and hooked up. All the wiring is done. I need to go over all the grounds tho (no spark). I also need to make a new intake. The new radiator hoses get in the way of the old stock plastic intake tube. Ill try my best to make one from exhaust pipe. It doesnt have to be pretty it just needs to work.

I thought madness was this weekend coming up. I was freaking out last night. Im glad i have a bit more time to get ready.

                  • Lucifer is alive once again. I got it together just enough to hear it fire up. Intake was just kinda there so no idle. It ran like crap but it ran. I will be very busy this week getting it all right but at least i have an idea of what im doing now (haha jk just got lucky).

I will upload a quick video to youtube and facebook and post the links here in a bit.

                    SUPER EXCITED RIGHT NOW.

                        • I hope so. The new turbo is said to be good up to 25psi. I have seen others run them up to 20 with no problems. If the wastegate is big enough i should have plenty of power to keep me happy. It it still boost creeps ill have to remake the exhaust and go back to a full stock style exhaust. Ill do it if i have to. I just want to make sure its trully needed.

Just have a large enough waste gate in my opinion controlling boost creep with restricting exhaust is silly id suggest doing an external wastegate if your internal does pan out
