  • I will have a ram horn style manifold built with external gate. I will have the turbo moved around a bit so that i can hook up ac and get the radiator in there better. The setup now is just a temp deal until i have better time to redo it all.

    • Last night i cleaned the garage up a bit. Got all my tools picked up and put back in place. I did start the car up again to make sure it worked again and not that one lucky time. It fired right up. Tonight ill cut out all the butt conncetors i put in place and solder/ shrink wrap the few wires i had to fix.

      My to do list is:
      1. solder the wires together.
      2. sand a couple spots down and mount ground wires.
      3. make battery tray.
      4. mount battery tray.
      5. make vaf box mounts.
      6. make intake pipe. (gonna make a nice hard line with a rubber coupling to the vaf box. Vaf with be soft mounted also)
      7. hook BOV back up. I will be replacing it for a forge diverter valve one i get time. For now im gonna stick to what i have and hope i can control boost psi
      8. hook up water meth kit
      9. hook up aem wideband
      10. install axles (int shaft already in place)
      11. install headlights.
      12. dial in suspension settings.
      13. mount seats.
      14. make harness bar.
      15. remove rear seat supports.
      16. make rear flat side panels and floor.

Clearly i wont have this all done by madness but im gonna try to get as much done as i can. The small stuff like rear panels and other non operational BS can wait. Car simply just must run good until i get home from madness.

      • Better make a tow bar just in case I need to tow you back home. Lol or you need to tow me. This is the most unprepared I've been for a big trip
Still haven't drove mine aside from around the block.

How is it doing now? You said you didnt like the hard trans mount. Is the vibrations really that bad?

          • It was touching the rack. I've got that sorted and it's much better. It's got more vibration than stock but it's not bad.

                • I got all my wiring redone last night. I still have to fasten down a couple grounds tho. I soldered and heat shrink tubed every wire that was cut or that was added. Its not the best work but im getting a bit better at it. This being my 1st true build i still kinda suck at stuff. I have always done small projects but nothing every this big. Anyway the car will be on the road this weekend! Today at lunch im going to get the supplies to make the intake system. Tonight i have plans with the wife so no garage time tonight!!!

The intake will be made from 2.5" o.d. exhaust pipe. It will match up to the turbo inlet and will attach with a rubber coupling. the pipe will come straight out from the turbo and have a 45° elbow going up and back a slight amount. It will go up enough for the vaf to clear the frame. The pip will then have a 2nd elbow that bring the pipe level to the ground again. The vaf will mount to the pip with another rubber coupling. On the vaf itself i am ditching the big black box. I will take a plate and drill 4 holes in it that will bolt it to the vaf. The plate will have another pipe welded on it to allow my cone filter to attach to it. It should make the unit much smaller and easier to locate. Plus it leaves room for the battery right above the trans. Ill acutally show pictures of this one! But you not seeing the exhaust (EVER)

                    • Don't forget to route the diverter valve into the intake pipe, between the turbo and VAF. Like the factory setup. This is a big deal if you want it to run right.

I will be asking you a few questions about this shortly. Like what about the hose thats running arond the back side of the car and tiring into the intake now? Its coming from the passengers side rear of the motor. Maybe from like a egr valve or something. Does that pipe need to stay in place or does it go somewhere else.

the cherry bomb was just for proof on concept. I will mount it in the exhaust before the fender. The cherry bomb tip will stick through the fender. the cherry helps out nuch more then i thought it was going to. Still not a nice good sound but not gonna go bleed from my ears now. Plus it has to be raw- Gotta sound like the devil himself!!!
