instead of using exhaust pipe on the intake side. how hard would it be to go pick up some J pipe from pepboys? no bashing on your build. it would prob help out the air flow and have less worry about pieces of that harbor freight weld fall into the intake side

My welding still sucks but im getting better at it.

the cherry bomb was just for proof on concept. I will mount it in the exhaust before the fender. The cherry bomb tip will stick through the fender. the cherry helps out nuch more then i thought it was going to. Still not a nice good sound but not gonna go bleed from my ears now. Plus it has to be raw- Gotta sound like the devil himself!!!

I will be asking you a few questions about this shortly. Like what about the hose thats running arond the back side of the car and tiring into the intake now? Its coming from the passengers side rear of the motor. Maybe from like a egr valve or something. Does that pipe need to stay in place or does it go somewhere else.

I got all my wiring redone last night. I still have to fasten down a couple grounds tho. I soldered and heat shrink tubed every wire that was cut or that was added. Its not the best work but im getting a bit better at it. This being my 1st true build i still kinda suck at stuff. I have always done small projects but nothing every this big. Anyway the car will be on the road this weekend! Today at lunch im going to get the supplies to make the intake system. Tonight i have plans with the wife so no garage time tonight!!!

The intake will be made from 2.5" o.d. exhaust pipe. It will match up to the turbo inlet and will attach with a rubber coupling. the pipe will come straight out from the turbo and have a 45° elbow going up and back a slight amount. It will go up enough for the vaf to clear the frame. The pip will then have a 2nd elbow that bring the pipe level to the ground again. The vaf will mount to the pip with another rubber coupling. On the vaf itself i am ditching the big black box. I will take a plate and drill 4 holes in it that will bolt it to the vaf. The plate will have another pipe welded on it to allow my cone filter to attach to it. It should make the unit much smaller and easier to locate. Plus it leaves room for the battery right above the trans. Ill acutally show pictures of this one! But you not seeing the exhaust (EVER)
