  • Are you going to have the IHI flange swapped out for a T2 flange on the DAE header?

    • That splitter looks awesome. I would be scared to bump it though. If you don't mind me asking, where did you buy it? I need to find one in abs to protect my front lip.

          That should work really well.

Is the ram horn style manifold a step up from the stock style? This one is not really a true ram horn. I wounder how it will sound being just 2 main runner tubes!

I can't remember exactly what it looks like. "Ram horn" is a description of a typical mid length, equal length 4-1 turbo manifold. They don't always work the best, but in the case of the b6t, any extra runner length is a benefit. The stock manifold places the turbo too close to the exhaust ports and it doesn't take much for the heat to back up and melt the pistons or cause detonation problems. I'd be willing to bet that this design flaw is a big reason why the b6t is 7.8:1 compression rather than the more common 8.5:1 that we see on most fuel injected turbo 4 cylinders from the 1980s.

Edit: just looked at the picture. I don't remember the DAE b6t manifold looking like that. It should work better than the stock manifold. I would move the 02 sensor from the collector to the outlet. I've melted b6t o2 sensors before and it ruins the turbo.

                  • I will place the o2 after the turbo! The current 02 location will be drilled out for a wastegate to be welded in place.

                    • I didn't think the dae header looked like that either. I thought it was more of a true ram horn ( equal length runners) .

                      • I would love to see back to back of dae vs the log manifold vs stock. I personally think the log would be the best you have more volume where as the dae merges into the 2 pipes. Just my .02

                            • I wonder if this manifold will give a slight Subaru sound. Due to not true length runners. Or is it so slight it won't make a difference

                              • The Subaru sound comes from a total unequal length system.

Btw if it wasn't evident in the above pic link, that is the DAE header.
