Feeling pretty stoked today. I got my truck on the road and now I can start doing some body work on the festiva. This friday it will be going in the garage and on jackstands for the teardown. I also scored two great condition bumpers from the local yard. I'm not sure if i want to paint them with SEM black or grey though. As of right now the plan for the car is a panda theme (yes...i know it's played out) but I'm going for a vintage look and feel with the car.

The header showed up on saturday. I put it on but I'm still in the parts hoarding phase so nothing is buttoned down.

Haha thanks. A good friend of mine called it "automotive serendipity "

The anxiety of waiting for the watanabes and the header is intense. I also posted my bmw for sale today. Hopefully that will help with the speed of this build. Tomorrow I'm finishing up on the trucks so I can focus solely on the festiva build. It'll be nice to have a daily that's not my project car.

The one I have was their shop demo model. I am very lucky to have gotten this one.

You make me more and more jealous with every trick part you dig up! Great find, and well played!

Mx3 and capris were never that popular even when they were new. Also the dohc 1.6 wasn't the most desirable engine in either of those cars. Unloved engine in a unloved platform. Hard to sell performance parts that cost almost as much as most people paid for their whole car.

I don't know. I wonder if they know that the mx3 header fits the capri. I think they gave up on selling it because there wasn't enough interest.

I'm wondering if they have a jig for it and would rather just sell that?

I don't think there's a dyno graph. I can ask what he would want for each with an order of 25 though. Maybe a group buy here, a capri forum and an mx3 forum could get 25 sold. Heck, I'd be interested in getting one as a spare.

Did they say how much that would cost? Is there any dyno graphs for these? I know there's no way that we'll get 25 people interested but if we could get enough interested and cover the rest.

It's going to be an autox build but not as aggressively as my crx. It's also more for mountain runs out in my area. Here's a shot of the wheels.

What kind of racing are you planning, autocross?
Looks like you have lots of other work taking you away from the Festiva, but I hope you find time to get the wheels on. Like to see the new look they give it.

I know I haven't posted too much lately but here's an update of sorts. The festiva is at a bit of a stand still. I have 3 other vehicles that I'm trying to sort out at the moment. The seller of the enkeis never shipped the wheels so ebay refunded my money. I'm actually okay with that because I wasn't 100% on the 13x6's. I used the money to but a set of Watanabe's in 14x6+25. That payment was sent this morning and hopefully I will have them soon. This friday I'll be paying advancedynamix for a passenger mount. Once that gets here I can start test fitting things. As of right now I have to drive the festiva because of issues with the other rides. My E36 is lent out to a friend and I'm working on the trucks. I have one 2wd and one 4wd nissan hardbody. The 2wd runs and drives but the 4wd has a blown head gasket. This saturday I'll be moving the good motor from the 2wd into the 4wd so I can have a good towing rig. The plan is to sell the 2wd shell, rebuild the spare z24, sell the E36 when I get it back in october and use the money from that to buy a trailer or a frame tow setup. I learned from my last car that racing your daily is a bad idea. My sweet 1990 crx with b16 and jdm front was the learning curve I needed. I blew the motor 2 hours away from home and had to tow it back with a civic cx. That sucked.

After the truck is all set I'll be picking back up on the festiva. I'm guessing about a month and a half and I'll be back to the aggressive festiva build. Thanks for visiting.

Big thanks to wwwdotgov, now I have a 5 speed for the swap, spare axles, shift linkage and front calipers. Looking forward to your build thread Sir.

Over the next few weeks I'll be powdercoating the valve cover and getting all of the misc. crap I need for the swap. The plan is to have a completely ready plug and play swap ready to go to minimize downtime. I think I could have it done in a weekend if all goes well.
