It should have a distance in the specification chart or somewhere in clutch replacement. All my service manuals are packed so I can't tell you exactly where.
You can use a depth mic, or even a vernier caliper with depth, and a straight edge.

The question I get asked most lol on my original bp which was from a 94 protege lx it seemed to be stock had the Mazda heat Shield and all but it has no markings or anything

So from what I see on here performance wise it seems like my old bp was down on power....very down like 50-60hp as b3s are pulling better lol also it's been so cold here 15 with a -10 windchill I've been pretty lazy and haven't done anything so hopefully Sunday ill go out and finish my mounts

Oh also I remember you telling me to disconnect the Iac one thing I realized is we have winter over here does the iac raise the engine rpm in the cold weather like below zero or the the ecu go off the coolant temp sensor

The IAC is a thermal reactive air bleed system with stepper motor assist. It's like having a coolant thermostat with computer control. Disconnecting it will lock out the ECU control, so idle stability may suffer.

Yeah, I disconnect the ECM control and leave the coolant hoses hooked up. The reason is that the electronic part seems to go haywire on the b6d/t management systems. It may not be that way on the BP though.

FESTIVER LIVES
got the engine all plumbed and wired up
bunch of turning over and no start big puddle of oil
I panic looking all over for leak source
Wow I'm a dumb I forgot to put the new oil filter on....
anyway new filter on still didn't start my 3k mile injectors are seized closed... what a shocker lol so I would like to unseize them but I throw my 200k mile injectors in and it fired almost right up needs some tuning but ran and stayed alive had to go shopping so I didn't get to play much Tonight but tomorrow I'll try to get her dialed in oh and I have a short shifter coming in tomorrow
