  • Finished up the head swap. Still needs coolant and a oil change. But that's all simple stuff before the first start.

    • Brought home a new to me Washer and Dryer. Front of trailer had a passel of steel in it, so I put the dryer in the rear, and washer towards the front. Went well, close trip

What did they hit you full price for? Wheels?

        • No, they tried to nickel and dime me for every sensor and solenoid on the motor. They even tried to say the knock box was an ECU I told Will to grab the tools and we left them a nice little pile of parts in their parking lot.

            • They wanted well over $500 for parts from a car that they paid $450 for. I told Will if that's the case I would just start buying whole cars to strip instead.

Pretty much the only way to go. I buy full Capri xr2's for $300 take what I can sell some more and scrap the car for $300. It sucks but once a car is so far gone its just best for parts.

This is the reason I haven't finished my aspire rear swap. They killed me just getting the front from a junk car and then have to replace everything anyway. Stupid.

                • Festiva has now become the family car for a little while.

Mother got into an accident with the Fusion.

Some jerk-off pulled out in front of her, and lied to the police saying my mother went left of center and hit him when he was trying to turn left into a parking lot, when he was actually turning right out of a parking lot on the other side of the street while she slammed on her brakes and went left of center to try and avoid him.

Police said they didn't have enough evidence to back up either sides story, so no tickets were issued.
Luckily nobody was hurt, but my mother was pretty shaken up. Luckily I was on my lunch break, so I called and told work I would be late getting back, and rushed out there to the scene.

Wasn't too bad, didn't deploy the airbags.

                        • Was moving the car in the driveway today, and was told my drivers side brake light was out.
Pulled the bulb and found someone used a amber bulb instead of a clear one, oh well I guess what worked, worked.

Also found that the tiny lower bulb has a short, and that the plastic was so brittle on it, the retainer tabs fell apart trying to put it back in, other side is the same way.

Time to see if I can find the right socket for these.
