      • After swapping out the radiator and distributor with ones I had in the garage, I drove the recently acquired Vegas Festiva on an nearly 1000 mile jaunt. The water pump is leaking and a wheel bearing is now going out.

Installed new KYB Kia Rio struts/mounts on the 93 5 speed. Much improved the steering and handling but the ride feels a bit choppy. Also swapped in a rear hatch with defog and wiper.

        • Drove it.

Met Jawa Jim in Beckley, WV on his way to Shadetree's.

Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

          • Had a fire on the way home... Driving home from work in the dark on a buisy highway and smoke started pouring out from the dash and then a fire started by my knees. My wipers were going on their own and the wiper fuse was completely melted but not blown. Stupid dollar store fuses... Had to pull it out with pliars. Now i gotta fix wire fire aftermath tomorrow... :/

There aren't too many other Festivas around that have gone through as much as your car has. Scaffold falling on it, people hitting hit with loaner cars, hood flying open.... at least you haven't had a tree fall on it... yet

Try 99% isopropyl alcohol. If that doesnt work go to an autobody store and buy gunwash.

                        • Today I gave Trixie a thorough cleaning inside and out.
I also removed the inside and outside front door window seal strips, cleaned them and coated them with spray silicone.
I also sprayed silicone in the window channels. The power windows had began to get a little sluggish and now they
zip up and down nicely again.

                          • lol DIY front end alignment after a crusty old Rio/Miata/Escort brake swap.

Funny, I did it in the air. No way to check it on the ground really. I mean I could, but it wouldn't be that accurate anyway.

So I just eyeballed it with a tape measure and gave it some (I don't even remember now how much) toe out so when it squatted again and toed itself back in it would be close.

Feels dead on. I'm sure it isn't, but I'm pleased and kind of amazed with that. I do know about the string method, but with a lift it's just so tempting to haul it up and try it.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

                            • Replaced the serpentine belt on miogi. Stopped an annoying squeal coming from a brand new alternator. Must have been some bad belt slippage.

                              • I did the same kind of alignment, sketch, things its been dead straight for a year.

Mine still suffers periodically from a squeaky serpentine belt
