does it drive okay in town?
does it cruise at 60 okay?
does it have power to pass another car?
OK. It's back to acting up.
Hard to start. Have to hold down gas peddle until warm. Idles bad.
Lose of power. Dies sometimes at lower speeds.

Someone at work said it sounds like a leak in a hose.

I hear something that sounds like someone sipping on a straw. The sound is located around the fuel filter. Is this sound normal or will it cause my problems? This noise is with engine off and after it as been sitting over an hour now.

Carbs can do that. Do you have water in fuel?? Like a gas station might have
put in gas with water in it from storms or something.

Sounds like a vac leak. Spray gum cutter around area to find it. Sometimes will speed up, sometimes will slow down.

Sprayed Carb cleaner around hoses. Didn't hear any difference in idle. Does that mean I don't have vacuum leak..

He said up to an hour after shut down..While cheap fuel is evaporating the last pump from the fuel pump will keep the bowl full..the noise can sound like
                        that.

Intermittent problem..could have a fuel quality problem..

sinking float..dirt in needle and seat..fuel actually dribbling into carb throat when it shouldn't

whoa!! get the engine to idle then look down the carb under the choke,
there should be no fuel visible dripping or puddled on the throttle plate.

If there is fuel there then there is a guy that does these carb overhauls
all the time named Kartracer who might arrange to rebuild it.

There are a few things to try before you pull the carb..first things first!

Went out today and "Finally " got it started after about 30 mins. Let it idle and didn't find any gas in Carb. What should I try next?

Hold the choke open and run the throttle linkage from idle to wide open
with the engine off, while looking down the carb, you should see fuel
come out of a little tube under the choke plate. You will probably need
a flash light even in the day time.

If no fuel comes out get a little lawn mower fuel and put 3 or 4 table spoons of fuel down under the choke plate, and try to start it , see if its better or worse.
