I didn't cut from up top, but rather I cut from the front facing side of the support. Easier that way.

Ok quick update: cut out the broken bolt an nut an installed new nuts an bolt so everything is tight.
Started the car an drove down the street much better but still bouncy. Chrisofna said I could have pulled the cv axle apart an one of the ends might have falled out in the boot.... anything else I should check.
Side note... it has new knuckles, starter, clutch, release bearing an I have a clutch cable on the wayFrankie

So cut the boot band and see what happened...the inner cv will pull out, the outter cv is tricky to get apart...or break, unless it wears out over time.2008 Kia Rio- new beater

It really can be the only thing I can think of the engine has no problem befor the clutch an the trans mission is good too. I can get it up to about 35 befor it starts bad an at idle it doesn't bounce. It also goes into gear real well so I'm pretty sure I did it right. The only real problem I had was getting the axles out I yanked at it an think I broke somethin in the bootFrankie
