That's 180 b6t hp right? I assume bp numbers are slightly different because of weight.

Yeah, I thought of that when I was writing it. Lol. It's true though, a 180hp festiva is equal or slightly faster than a nearly 400hp NA miata (yes, in a straight line) and about equal with a c6 Z06 Corvette up till around 130-140mph. I have Tweak right now, for some service work, and I drove it a bit on saturday. I always forget how ridiculous that car is on the highway. It pulled dead even with a GTR and the guy was giving me the strangest look.
I can't even begin to imagine what 300 plus hp feels like in one of these.

What I find hilarious is that with a day's worth of work you can make it out-handle any of the high-dollar cars. Tires, front brakes, suspension, lower rad support. Maybe $1K+ invested to spank the $60K+ cars. Add motor according to personal taste.

Yes. I used angle iron and it made a huge difference. It's pretty well documented on Tweaks rebuild thread and then Gomez did the same thing and documented it on his build thread. It hasn't been proven on a dragstrip yet, so sonic would be a good guinea pig for that. After driving a b6t car without the mod, and then driving the exact same car with the mod, I'm convinced it's a must for a high hp (over 120ft.lbs of tq) festiva.

I actually have a b series adapter plate and a E153 sitting in the shop. Plate was cheap and the trans was free just had problems with it popping out of 5th. Probably will never go in anything but I have it just in case I decided to do something stupid. lol

edit- Just remembered I also have a kia fe3 sitting there too. lol

    ^^not to mention custom axles

The guys who've done the E153 swap did it in the BG chassis 323's and they found an axle set that fits the BG chassis, not the BF chassis so most likely we would require custom axles for the E153 to work

I figured that was the reason, so it sounds like a tube front end would be required in order for a e153 to be plausible. If that is the case you might as well stick an FE3 in there. Maybe one day 😎

    ^^yup pretty much

I've seen comparison pics between the G series and E153, the E153 is much much larger and the advantage that a 323 has is higher frame rails so the transmission can go underneath the frame, where as the festiva frame sits lower which will cause huge interference issues

E153 will barely fit in a 323. It's not going to fit in festiva without cutting out pretty much all of the frame rails.

Going back to the tranny issue, has anyone looked at the BP to e153 (toyota gear box) adapter plate option? I'm a noob, so I'm sure it has been ruled out due to the size, but I just had to ask.
