  • CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CANADIAN MEMBERS!!

Yes, you should be very happy and proud of the change, but Willie is right: someone somewhere has stored all the old info and they'll use it for evil if they ever again get the chance. Don't trust any of them, ever!!!! We don't trust ours...for good reason!

M24/47 Her Fiancé' had just finished going thru it. He took Gun Smithy classes in Black River Falls. He buys & sells guns like we do parts cars. I'm more of a two gun guy. Rem 870 & the original 1100.But I love Hand guns. He let me shoot his Glock 10mm. It was fun,but it would be more fun if I could hit closer to the Bullseye drool

            • Australia, Great Britain and others (Brazil almost) bought into the 'gun control (via registration) mantra over the past 20 years. I was sincerely hoping/praying that Canadians were less "Sheeple" (sheep-people) than other Commonwealth Countries and 15 years of making a fuss, getting politically active, and physically voting, has made all the difference here. There are millions of us (but only 1000s that are willing to do something) and I'm proud I too did not roll over when all this was proposed and implemented but stood up loud and proud to be counted, and assisted in forming fruitful associations. Canadian Shooting Sports Association (our own NRA) did not exist until the late 90s.
Registering firearms is entirely a political scheme to intimidate and control people. Crooks typically already have a record a mile long, destroy evidence, don't license themselves or register guns so the only people left to register possessions are naive or gullible folks foolish or scared enough to believe gov't will properly behave with personal info like that. Our gov't didn't and hasn't. Happened every day for the past 10 years: Domestic dispute; sorry your gun license is revoked. Impaired driving charge; sorry this obvious example of social irresponsibility has resulted in your license being revoked etc etc. Only a matter of time before this scenario:
"This is Gov't of Canada calling. Our records indicate that you have not filed your taxes on time. Since this is not a socially responsible activity it is necessary to suspend your firearm license until such time that you prove to be a good citizen. And of course without a firearm license the guns listed in your name, within our error-proof data bank, will no longer then be legally owned." Please notify local authorities for pick-up for the purpose of destruction and indicate how you will be paying for this service. Sentimental firearms may, under special circumstances, be rendered inoperable and returned to you instead of being destroyed but this will incur an exorbitant additional fee". These policies exemplify the ideals of "peace, order and good government (Canadian constitution)" (as opposed to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, USA version) and to "foster a culture of safety".
Thank you and have a nice day.

So Bert your saying that they are actually entraining the thought. That if you dont pay your tax's they will confiscate/destroy your gun.And nullify your permit? Or your just speaking hypothetical-

                • They're not taking your license for tax evasion yet, but they're severely restricting licensure based on what they consider "dangerous" civil and criminal offenses.

At least that's what I got from some Canuckistanian friends about it.

                  • Also, note the correlation between the increased gun sales of 11/2011, and the somewhat lower national crime rate since.

                    Take THAT anti-gun fools.

                    • i went to the usa today and picked up some shorts and shirts and also took a trip to cabelas for the first time and OMFG... its HUGE!!! i spent about 1.5 hours in there and was not even close to looking at all the stuff that i wanted.... there is SOOOO much stuff in there and so may guns, and everything was out in the open, just pick it up and have at it... up in canada its all behind the counter and you have to ask the workers to get it for you and you feel like a big time waster when your "just looking around" for stuff... shopping for firearms and firearm accessories in the usa is WAY diffrent than in canada... i LOVE how its done in the usa, way more laid back about everything and you dont need someone to hold your hand while your shopping....

while i was down there i picked up a nice set of camo hunting pants for 19 bucks, im happy with that

                        • Dont do an indirect handgun transfer there... You'll be there 4 hours while they make you repeat the same crap 3 times. That store isn't very appealing to me anymore.

                          • nah, im not buying any guns down in the usa... they are WAY cheaper, but not worth all the hassle of bringing them across the boarder...
