I am out of the country and have no cell service but do have wifi.

The M122 is not the cobra blower, it is on GT500s. I did not typo. They are cheaper than 112s due to gt500 guys having a bolt-on upgrade TVS or whipple. I also have a TVS2300 to upgrade to later on when I redo my intercooler. Yes, the 122 flows more than the m90. 35.5% more. But apart from the longer rotors they are identical in terms of rotor diameter and tolerances with the case, and by your argument the displacement of the blower shouldn't matter. My point was, I have a much larger turbo feeding it than anything you would ever put on a festiva-swappable engine, and my turbo size to supercharger size ratio is significantly higher than what we were discussing so if it would be a problem on his setup, it will be an even bigger problem on mine.

I don't want a whipple for cost reasons. The 122 was $500 and has a built-in bypass mechanisms. Twin screw superchargers are difficult or impossible to really bypass completely since compression occurs within the supercharger. Also, I knew that in choosing the 122, I would have a bolt-on upgrade to a 900+ hp 2.3L TVS blower later if I wanted (and after finding a deal on one, am pursuing that path in the relatively near future).

Sigh please just ban me already. This is losing its fun.
I am going to leave that up to bhearts...I will just be standing hy for technical support. But if I can fit a supercharged 3800 in a festiva (and it's looking good so far), I'm sure it can be done.

Just for the record, I'm not hating or trolling. I opted out of this discussion when things got stupid. My advice was simply stating the most successful process for twin charging, from my personal experience. If the goal is "My buddy gave me this supercharger and I happen to have this old turbo laying around, and i want an excuse to use my new welder" then this will be successful no matter what happens. Either way, I'm watching it with fingers crossed that you do it. Bhearts, you are a talented machinist and your work is art. With a welder, you can pretty much make anything fit. Now it's time for the twincharged build thread. We want lots of pics of all the trick parts you make!

Charlie, your posts are more then helpful for everyone and will always be welcomed

Kornhead asked me again in PM's for a banning so he's on a weeks vacation now, I doubt his attitude will change afterwards though

          1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
          1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I apologize for my role in the drama. I do like a good discussion though, civil or not.

Charlie is making me use a b6. Probably a miata one. So the bp is no more. That supercharger is going in a remote location close to factory ac position.

Just for the record, I never said it was a good plan to bolt an M90 on a 1.6L engine. M42 would be more appropriate, m62 at most (I just gave one away a few months ago, haha). This is going to be a freak show. I like freak shows.

I see no problem with the larger displacement supercharger as long as it is driven at an appropriate dpeed. Although I agree a supercharger half the size would be more appropriate.

Do you agree that it will be a freak show?

I'm willing to shove whatever it takes into that engine bay to make it work. I just want to put the whoop on a co workers authentic gt350 Shelby

You know how I roll. Of course it will. If I have my hand in it, it's always a freak show. With cheap admission. Bryan tends to do a lot cleaner work than me, although often with the same flavor.

I hope you mean the old one. It might take an awfully big bottle of nitrous on top of boost to take down the 2013.

                            • He said that his old one weighs 2600 and has 400hp. And the new one weighs like 3800 and has 600+hp. Pretty similar power weight ratios

                              • Yeah, but that 600 is going to be over a HUGE powerband with that twin screw blower...I'm sure the 400 in the old car is not only a pretty peaky powerband, but also could have been rated the old way, as gross crank hp with no accessories or anything like they used to rate engines back in the good old days.
