Latest update:
A couple of days ago I went out to "put the interior back in ". Then I noticed my front window defrost vents were in bad condition. Also I recalled that Redford had a couple of defects on its dash. So I ended up removing the dash from my whole parts car for a dash swap.
UNfortunately after I got the new dash out I found out that the PO had cut off all the original stereo plugs to splice in some other Ford radio. So that meant doing a dash wireing swap from the old dash to the new dash. I did use the opportunity to install a wire harness for a dash clock. Also added some other options while reinstalling the dash.
New pedal covers, variable speed intermittent wiper switch, NOS af/fm stereo, dash clock, etc.
Had to switch VIN too.

I like where this is going, definitely different with an old school flair!

I think I'll stick with the current intake manifold for now. Maybe a swap after its running if it wouldnt be too much of a mod. BigEl its hard to know the orientation w/o having the filter here. My thinking would be that the widest part of the filter should be down where there is more room. Maybe with the Edelbrock down. That would require an offset hole near the tip of the point on the narrow or opposite end.

This should bolt up, may interfere with the shock tower though. I think the member Biff did a miata BP swap and had to modify his somewhat.

The green donor is a 1993. No vacation, I got sucked into a sequential vortex and ended up here.

Haha, I'm not the one buying the parts! I am barely qualified to take apart the vics intake I got open yesterday!

Maybe we should research this, and have Fantastiva all designed out for Marcus when he gets back from vacation.
:p

Copy the URL from the browser, then when you type out your message, you can either click the icon in the text box that looks like this:, or surround your link address with the tags [UR L="link address"] and without the space.
The URL to this exact post would be typed out like this:
link text here
Except without a space in the end tag. Done properly, it will appear like this:
link text here
And if you click that link, it will show you this exact post, except in a separate window. If you won't want to assign the link a name, just leave no spaces or characters between the brackets from the open and end tags.Last edited by Christ; 05-30-2012, 10:01 PM.

I think the air cleaner could maybe be oriented like this....
An opening could be made in the sheet metal heat shield (say that fast three times) that goes behind the Festiva grill. This would make Fresh air directly available to the cleaner.
I looks like a Miata intake manifold would be the ideal solution for having the VAF on the passenger side. I'm not sure, but it may be a bolt on solution.
There's about 10 for sale on ebay. One of them, that looks like it would fit Fantastiva is mirror polished. $199.00 for that one, but it would look AweSome(!) in this engine compartment. It looks like it would a little over a $100.00 for a non-polished unit.
I'll try to post a link to the mirror unit. How do I post a link? Any way it's for sale by BTDT Racing-36 199.00 delivered for one that polished on top, etc.Last edited by BigElCat; 05-30-2012, 09:23 PM.

well...I got the 4 barrel air horn chopped off, and a flat adapter plate burned out..
I didn't put the mounting holes in, or attach the adapter to the air cleaner. It's an easy thing to do, but the location of the hardware is hard to judge by pics alone. The air hole is centered, but I ought to make another adapter plate with the hole off center. I'll make another post showing where the hole probably ought to be.
Burning new ones out is easy, now that I have the auto cad file for the plasma table.
