Lucifer gets new Turbo setup!
Carlos isn't on the Festiva forum. I'll be dropping my car off this week to him for Evo Ecu and harness. Can't wait. He's been tuning a long time and his shop is 1 of the big shops in town. Everyone knows kings performance here.
It sounds to me like you have too much power to the igniter check your grounds as well. Maybe the igniter is having a hard time getting a good ground and causing extra load shorting it out. Regardless a little sweating in the garage won't hurt you. Most of us built our problems. Your just getting the ball rolling.Last edited by Flyin4stroke; 07-06-2016, 07:08 AM.

So i did some good testing tonight. i wanted to see how little i could hook up the coil and still get it to work. i did this so that i know how i have been testing it is enough or not (or that it is potentially enough). So i found out that i am doing enough just to get spark! I also tested the coil from lucifer in stress relief and what do you know its bad. Parts store let me swap them out and ill have a new one on the 7th. I have the msd box all hooked up/ will be able to get it hooked up once i have a coil that works.
Whatever is wrong with the ecu it heats up the coil and the igniter and blows them. I HOPE the new coil and my new knowledge of what not to do will get me all squared up.
So ready for this damn project to be over.
also big thanks to Carlos for all the help! i have drove him crazy yet he is there to help a new guy out.

I don't even run a chipped ecu on my B6t cars. They are stock except for the boost limit switch is removed.
The igniter and coil are all in the stock location on my cars, so basically look at your capri.

My issue now is the igniter keeps getting hot and going out.
Advancedynamix can you show me a picture of how you have setup the igniter in the past?

Good choice. There are a lot of reasons to leave the battery in the engine compartment and no good reason to move it.
I would switch to a smaller AGM powersports battery. I use a Deka ETX12 battery in my cars. It's much smaller and lighter than the stock battery and they are cheaper too. I paid 45 bucks for my last one on eBay.

I decided to leave the battery. I got rid of the VAF box and picked up a nice cone filter to replace it. I now have more room for the battery. Today im going to mount a new battery try and get the battery swapped out.
I put a new coil and new igniter on last night and got my spark back Just gotta figure out my tps wires and im done.

Somehow i blew the igniter. So im now waiting for a new one tomorrow. I hope i didnt blow the coil pack as well. Off to get some wire to relocate the battery to behind the passenger.

If the thing runs off a map sensor then it'll never run right without it hooked up
