Thanks Rob. Mike took the time to put good suspension under this car, but he gave up on the stock b6t before correcting some vital issues. You CAN'T run these things with an open BOV and expect good results. The open exhaust is cute while your young and want attention, but it's not good for a well tuned b6t and I haven't had good luck with chipped ECUs on the b6t because over 7k rpm with 16psi or more, they will destroy the turbo in a hurry. Mike never felt a well tuned b6t with the stock systems in place. If he had then he would understand where I'm coming from. The b6t is a very well designed package from the factory, and it's often screwed up by people throwing crappy parts and bad ideas at it. Big charge coolers, big charge tubing, open BOV, open exhaust and too much rpm really hurt the performance of these great engines. It really saddens me to see some of the things people do to "improve" an awesome package.
After driving a 300hp BPT festiva out here back to back with Tweak, I was convinced that the car didn't need that kind of TQ for any sort of street driving or road coarse work (drag racing is a different story).

Thanks to all that have helped me. I do listen to what you have to say.

As far as the vj14 goes. My setup was bad for it. The hater pipe let it over boost to much. I didnt want to change the pipe. So i changed the turbo. The turbo at 15psi was ok but just not enough for me. At 20 psi it was enough!!! But 20 psi for it was to much. So i needed to change the turbo for that reason as well. I wanted the Garret gt2554 but the wife found out and i got the twisted wedge turbo!!!

I will be changing the car up in the future as well. Maybe i can get the garret then who knows.

Once i drive the car on the track the 1st time ill understand much more. I may even kick myself in the butt. I might get to do 7 autocrosses a year. So for me some top end power is more important then just pure low end hit. If im not the fastest ok whatever. Its all about will it still be fun!

Maybe i can redo the turbo when i sell the buggy. have brit as my speed car and lucifer as my track car. IDK Im still learning here so any mod is a good mod.

This is spot on. I have never felt a well tuned b6t car. I would love to tho! One day maybe.

end goal woyuld be to have 2 festivas. 1 thats a bpt with high hp able to drag race and it be fun and one i take to aces and actually use. For right now im shooting for a fun street car that can race.

Agreed. With stock tune and more boost they will pull dead even with a C6 Z06 Corvette, and still hook up without any problems in the rain (with the g series tranny atleast).

I hope to be able to give rides in mine as well! The 1st day i had lucifer i went out and boy it was pulling crazy hard. You could tell the turbo was not happy tho. It would fade out very quickly. If i could get the new turbo to pull like the vj14 at 20 i would be more then happy. I think its going to pull much harder tho.

I had the water meth on and going a few times and in 2nd the meth was right and the turbo was spiking to 20 and it was much faster then a z06. It was super strong. But that didnt last. and the water meth was only good in 2nd gear. 3rd it would spray to much.

                    • I got the axles out of the car. The old ecu and all its wringing is removed. Tomorrow i will do my best to have the stock trans on the ground. Gotta have the g series in by the end of the work week. I can do it tho.

Carlos is sending me his Evo 8 system (cop and all).
Shadetree is sending me the shift linkage to complete my g series swap.
I got my top gear swap in the mail already.
The new clutch is sitting on the shelf waiting for me.

                            • My Stig finally came in the mail!!! They didn't put vent holes in the box so i gonna have to re-hydrate it! I figured i didnt build this car to not use it to its full potential so i got the best mod i could find. Some say its cheating but all i know is...
