Festiver build thread

  • So I brought my 3k mile injectors to school along with a multimeter a 9v and some alligator wires just tapped the power a bunch of times and the injectors freed up and started ticking again so yay to that gonna do a carb cleaner soak to help get rid of junk

      • Ok so I'm having a problem now with the injector harness with the car in the run position I get power to both sides of each injector no ground signal but if I test the wires coming to the plug from the chassis everything is ok green with yellow has a ground and 0.1 I'm guessing resistance to the battery (I'm using a power probe) and green with a black is the same and the yellow with a black has 12v which makes sense so I check the injector sub harness and everything works perfect that's my problem everything works perfect till you put it together then the injectors don't get signal

        • So it runs with the old inj but won't with the new inj ?
          have you cleaned them. ?

              Sorry that was confusing the injectors themselves are ok but the injector signal is all wacky

              • I've triple checked all my grounds and wiring the only thing I can think to blame is the ecu

                • Well not the ecu I threwy old b3 one back in and still no injectors firing

                    Power probe + ECU = broken drivers...
                    KOEO should show battery voltage on both sides of the injector plug when backprobed because there is no voltage drop because there is no ground being provided. And seeing battery voltage on either side shows that the injector winding is intact.

                    Now given that, are you getting spark? No spark points to the dizzy pickup and that will also disable injector pulse signal.

                    Please be careful with use of power probe and any ECU related wiring... Prefer to use DVOM.

                      I was worried I'd hurt the ecu lucky I haven't so far somehow a bad short was in the injector harness connecting both green wires and the yellow black wire stripped and rewrapped the loom and now she squirts fuel again oh and my ignition is in great shape

                        • OK so I go out today and put my fixed injector harness in and no start I bump into the disty plug on accident and I hear the inject give a little squirt. Hmmm OK so I play with the plug a little bit fired up almost instantly (yay) so I clean up all the connections and it's all good I swapped the thermostat to a 180° that I had in my old BP and I had to lean out the vaf a little plugged the IAC in and it runs sooooo good idles perfect revvs perfect doesn't stumble or miss I'm so happy now for every up there's a down lol my inter shaft bearing is chiping rip so I'm gonna have to replace that now but it's OK I'm so hyped also don't get upset about the revving it was all up to temp and was running for a while before lol https://vimeo.com/196984176

                            Yeah, I disconnect the ECM control and leave the coolant hoses hooked up. The reason is that the electronic part seems to go haywire on the b6d/t management systems. It may not be that way on the BP though.
                            Oh and with some experiments the BP likes the IAC runs perfectly
