  • Since my console was really in good shape, I ended up getting a boot from Greensales for $35 shipped
a boot retainer from ralph89891 for $10 shipped. Didn't save much over the entire assembly from FourGreen
but did reuse good parts which were already here.

Metal sleeves are needed for the rear insulators. They are not shown here.

      • cool. glad you contribute pics. the isolators are good to have. usually destroy the old ones in rust belts. wonder why you need isolators on the filter? vibration? it's already got in/out rubber tubing.

probably better off. you can see what a crap job kia did on molding the boot on mine. sometimes the kia parts are noticeably inferior in finish than the made in japan ford parts.

          • I was careless. I looked at the boot shown in the diagram above the console showing 7277 and made
the assumption that the E8BZ-7277-A at greenesalescompany was the one that fit in the console.
I even emailed them asking if it was the one that fit in the console.
Well it arrived today and it is a brand new, still in the sealed Ford package, shift boot that fits directly over shift on the floor.
I already had two of those... but now I have a pretty new one too for $35

            • 1990, I am using a transfer case boot from an old Nissan Trailblaizer that I got for free at the junkyard. Fits great. I think it's leather.

I'm sure my grandson would love that. Do you remember what year(s) I would need to look for?
                Should that be Pathfinder?

                • OEM ford/mazda wheel bolts vs the kia ones. mazda's really serious about weight savings. i can't measure it but the dimpled bolts have to weight a tiny bit less. look better too. Kia bolts. $1.13 ea

                      • this is interesting. comparison between AT and MT fan shrouds. AT is on the left. notice how much more the blade tunnel is offset towards the driver side and also how much higher the AT shroud is. also different depths in some areas. maybe this would help for some clearance issues for an engine transplant or lowering/moving forward if you keep the stock radiator. maybe the AT flows more CFM. i dunno. lotta maybe's.

                        AT shroud - KK18115210B. MT - MB37615210A. $27.00 ea

                        • on the other hand, NO difference between AT and MT blades except color and price. same diam, pitch, depth, curvature, blade spacing, hub.
                          AT - KK18115141. $11.43 MT - MB37615141. $11.71

                          • i couldn't find any # for the 3 door pride spare tire cover but they did have a # for an Avella board. took a chance that i could make a Festiva one out of it. i know it would be a LOT cheaper to go to home depot but authenticity was more important than money. and there is plenty of board to make a festy one out of it. even the finger hole will end up exact. KK38668820. $22.50

Festiva board compared. i think the aspire board is for a 4 door or 5 door.

                            • F3BZ, can you please trace the hole locations for one of the shrouds and then check if the other shroud holes are in the exact same location. I need to know if the mounting locations are exactly the same. Many thanks.

I am thinking that the reason for the fan offset is due to the A/T cooling chamber being on the bottom + clearance for factory Nippondenso hoses to the compressor. There was an extra fan in front of the condensor and the hose that was attached to the hood latch support, went down directly ahead of it.

                              • the holes are the same CL horizontally and the same distance in from the left & right sides. but the bottom tabs on the AT one are 3/16" longer than the MT. i wonder if an AT radiator is a little taller. there is enough tab that you could hog out 3/16 and it would bolt in where an MT shroud would.
the top of the AT volute or tunnel is 1 1/2" higher than the MT and the CL of the motor is 1 1/2" higher also.
interestingly they are both the same depth. the square body of the AT one is flatter allowing for the deeper tunnel.
