Well it's better then the red car if you at least scuffed it lol.
Who ever blacked out the red cars engine bay painted over the grease lol.
It's looking good. I'll be pulling my engine soon the head gasket is leaking oil down the front of the block , has been for 4 years (shortly after rebuild and getting over heated)
But it's getting much worse when cold. When she gets good and warned up it stops leaking.

I enjoy reading your threads Mike. I'm not sure if I've read every post, but a good portion of them. It's amazing how motivated you are. You make most of us (definitely me) look lazy. Lol. You've come a long way with both of your cars. I don't face palm at your posts anymore, which is a good sign. Lol.
(Well, 170mph on unknown crappy tires..... But you're still alive, and that's a good thing.)Last edited by Advancedynamix; 03-18-2017, 08:54 PM.Driving for me is neither a right nor a privilege. I have to move fast! Race season is near and i have to many other projects to move onto. I want to finish the cars so that i can enjoy them all summer long. Plus my wife wants to daily lucifer. We r gonna keep moving along as best as i can.
I went to the store to get blades and supplies and let my damn bag at the store or i lost it. So im hoping its at the store. So my productivity was low tonight. I got the front mount adjusted. I will fully remake it later on but for now its good enough. Tomorrow ill remake the upper and rear mount. The rear will be fun. Its gonna be all unique.
Engine bar is all painted and looking perdy. Rio rack is ready to install but i bought the wrong inner tie rods. I need stock inners with escort gt outters. I only picked up the inners and from the escort. So thay gonna be an extra couple days wait. O well
I think i can have it all done by Wednesday night1990 (LUCIFER 2.0) fully built BP+T with E153, Fueltech FT500, traction control with hopes of 600hp (i drank to much of the KOOL-AID)

I started the weekend out by misplacing a bag of goodies i had picked up to do the cutting and modifying of the frame and motor mounts. I was alredy drinking before i realized i couldnt find the bag. So i had to wait for the next day to go back to town to get more supplies. Turns out the bag got put in the trash can by mistake. SO now i have plenty of cutting wheels right now...I got the engine bay all cleaned up, primed and painted.
Its just rattle can but its better then all the old nasty looking paint that was there.
then i had to decide to cut the frame or beat it with a hammer again. I want ti to look somewhat good so i went with cutting the frame.
also had to move the mounts for the radiator!
I also had to notch the inner corner of the core support to let the radiator sit in there better. The mounts are all inplace and welded back up.Last edited by mikemounlio; 03-20-2017, 07:55 AM.1990 (LUCIFER 2.0) fully built BP+T with E153, Fueltech FT500, traction control with hopes of 600hp (i drank to much of the KOOL-AID)

I did get the tans apart. Its all down to the diff. I need to drill out the old ring gear and get ready for install the new m factory diff. I also have to get metal to weld in for the frame notch. Ill go with some thicker plate that i will put against the inner frame wall but leave it short on the front and back side. That way when i box in the ends i can weld to a thick plate in the back to try and keep some strength in it. I might even add some metal on top and bottom just to be safe. It should look ok when done but be plenty strong.
Lots to do still yet.
Also i forgot to but new ball joints and i got the wrong inner tie rods. SO more waiting on that stuff.1990 (LUCIFER 2.0) fully built BP+T with E153, Fueltech FT500, traction control with hopes of 600hp (i drank to much of the KOOL-AID)

I picked up some more plate today. Im going to be doing the frame cut out tonight. I think i have my work cut out for me. I want to maintain the strength in the frame however i cut to much out already. I will have to trim a bit more and then get fancy with the support i add back in but ill get it. Its gonna take putting the motor in and out a couple time tho. So it may take me a few days to finish it up. Ill take pictures along the way but its gonna suck.1990 (LUCIFER 2.0) fully built BP+T with E153, Fueltech FT500, traction control with hopes of 600hp (i drank to much of the KOOL-AID)

I got nothing done on the car last night. The wife and i got the bikes out and went for a ride. I did pick up the correct outter tie rod ends and i ordered the correct inners as well. I had placed the order backwards. Now i have the escort gt outters and festy inners. What a mess i caused there. Thats ok tho autozone has screwed up more times then i can count so we are good.1990 (LUCIFER 2.0) fully built BP+T with E153, Fueltech FT500, traction control with hopes of 600hp (i drank to much of the KOOL-AID)

I gave the Polly another go. This time i have been doing very thin coats and giving a day in between each coat. So far its working just fine. The mounts are getting much stiffer. To be fair tho the upper mount has been swapped out for a different mount altogether. The one that was on the car was 100% gone. THe inner bushing had a 1/4" slop in it. It had opened the hole up to the point that i cant believe the motor didnt jump out of the car. SO with a good mount plus stiffening it up the car should feel great. The motor will still be soft mounted but stiff. Once i have the motor mounted and back in place i will remake the front lower bracket. I just cut up the old one to make it work for now. Once the rear is made and the motor will bolt back in i will prop it up and measure for a new mount.
Im going to grind off the rivits from the diff tonight and make a template for the rear mount. Friday night i will buy a press for the rivits. I have been wanting one for a long time anyway.1990 (LUCIFER 2.0) fully built BP+T with E153, Fueltech FT500, traction control with hopes of 600hp (i drank to much of the KOOL-AID)
