I wouldn't want to go with anything bigger. On my last Echo Hatchback, I had 17" tires with EXTREMELY low profile tires, and it reduced my gas mileage by over 10% . This is due to the additional rolling resistance as the weight is further away from the center of the wheel. (Inertia and all that, lol) Take a look at the graph on this fuelly page for my old Echo ---> http://www.fuelly.com/driver/darlo/echo It is really cool that I saw an overnight difference of +6mpg!

Here is an image of the wheels I had on the other echo, but my tires were much smaller.....http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/3968/corewhlsqf5.jpg

Changed my thermostat and finally got together with a friend to welded my exhaust. The thermostat that was in the engine was completely shot/stuck open and my poor car couldn't reach operating temp. It is also 10 times quieter without a soup can holding the exhaust together.
got her backed registered and also fixed my battery draing isssue also shot my engine light code problem (vaccum switch) not to fix my last problem not really to concerned with it just frustrated you go to cut it off it runs for up to 2 seconds then shut off possibly fuel sylinoid???? (however you spell it)
Used another random fan motor out of who knows what today. Fixed Green Car's lack of a working cooling fan, and in the process managed to mess up the top radiator hose. Fortunately one of the local parts stores (not a McParts) had one in stock and we got it back on the road. Also notched out the A/C lines to fit the Protege compressor. The low side is off an Aspire, the high side is factory festiva. Hopefully I'll have time in the morning to bolt the lines on and install the idler pulley.
Lets see what have I done to my festiva today? Well I've resisted the urge to light it on fire and push it off of a cliff out of 4 festivas I'm still having to drive my truck
Finished blacking out my engine bay and underhood. It tooks days of sanding, cleaning, prepping, priming and finally painting. No more teal peaking out from the hood. I know, I still have to finish painting the little grills and behind the front bumper, but that is for tomorrow or saturday. All paint used were 500 degree engine paint, I believe when it dries for 2 to 3 weeks, it'll be pretty tough.
Yeah those would look sweet! Although I have never enjoyed the gold on blue look.....I would love to try the black though, I think it would make the tinting pop more too.......
As for the gas savings, I will have to look that up. I know the moon caps (or pie plate caps) are the best, but I think you may be correct with these working too.....
I agree with you on the black too. I hadn't thought about matching the tint! Whenever you can lighten your rotating mass, you gain fuel mileage and braking capability. The mesh design gives an almost honeycomb strength in all directions when acted on by opposing forces. Because of this, often times there is actually less metal being used, and so lightens the wheel. BBS wheels are expensive, but are well known for their mesh design. I have something similar on my car as well. Gaining image is a major plus, but if you can actually lighten your wheel and tire package (choose lighter tires with good tread life) beyond the OEM weight of the stock wheels and tires while maintaining the stock tire diameter, that's the main goal.

I like the mesh wheels. I hope I haven't said something wrong, it just looks like the wheels are confused.
I wouldn't change the size. Meshies may actually help your MPG's...
Haha, no you havent said anything wrong, lol.....I dont enjoy the wheels that are on there either! I will have to google a mesh wheel, as I have no idea what that means, lol.......Thanks for the suggestion
EDIT ---- I now see that the ones I had on my previous echo were considered mesh wheels, hahahahhahaha. I did like those ones a lot! I wonder if I went with a 15" mesh wheel if I would gain MPG? I LOVE TO GAIN MPG! lol
