Started my b6+t car for the first time in 2 weeks. Battery had to be jumped, but fired right up. Chugged on 3 1/2 cylinders pretty good with a little bit of oil smoke. Let it warm up, should have drove it around the block, but oh well. Need to get my new engine assembled ASAP. I'm really missing boost

Got in FestEvil to head to wife's mom's house for breakfast... Wouldn't start. No biggie, just hopped in Green Car and headed out, figured I'd diagnose when I got home.

Instead of diagnosing it when I got home, I installed the rest of the AC components on Green Car. So far so good. Then I went to crank her, and she wouldn't start either!

So back to FestEvil, he would run off of spray, so figured it was the fuel pump. Found my spare and put it on, got him running just in time to make it to mom and dad's for taco dinner!

Got back to work on Green Car when we got home. No spark. Tried swapping known good coil, ignition module, and finally found my spare dizzy. Still no dice. I was trying to figure what I had done working on the AC that would have messed something up, I wasn't even working on that side of the engine, AC stuff was all on the pass side. Then I remembered that I did remove one single 14mm nut on the driver side of the engine bay, way down in there. Front bumper had to come off for some massaging to make room for one of the AC lines. Started jiggling wires down there and the coil wire started arcing! Pulled the harness out and found a pile of very corroded ground wires where they all connected into one. One had broken all the way off. Put them all back together and soldered the crap out of them, and she fired right up. No melting on the harness so I don't think anything had shorted, just my reaching down there to remove that bumper nut was enough to shake the corroded wires loose. AC works too! But I need to charge it the rest of the way and give it a shot of PAG oil (components are from a '95 Aspire so its already 134a). All in all a good day by the end of it, but it was very frustrating having two festivas down at once

Played around with the Escort intermediate shaft a bit, can't wait till the XR2 shaft gets here so I can start working on an Escort G series solution! Still need to put the AC lines on Green Car and charge up the AC in FestEvil, it was a record high of 94* here yesterday!

Worked on sound deadening and stereo wiring, and installing some speakers into my son's Festy. I figure if he is ever going to get it on the road, I better do most of the work... argh He does have some parts coming, so once we get the amps we can finish wiring and mounting all the bits so we can get the interior back together.

That is great for an auto!

My wifes Echo auto gets 35mpg when she drives it, and up to 40 when I drive it, lol.

My new Blue Echo manual gets up to 45mpg or so.......

I started by cutting off the bottom wire loop of the middle wire loom so that it would go 3 loops, 2 loops, 1 loop.
Then I realized my wires were Accel 8.8 and wouldn't fit!
I removed the stock wire looms and installed my wires.

Went to Pittsburg today and visited the Carnegie Museum of Art and History. Yesterday made most of the trip from Metro Detroit to Pennsylvania. We visited with an old friend from highschool in Grove City, PA and then made the rest of the journey to Monaca, PA. Tonight is a romantic dinner for our Anniversary and tomorrow is Ohiostiva! The Festiva is running like a champ but the rear trans mount I modified from manual to automatic (cut and rewelded to widen it) is pushing the transmission into the bottom of the radiator. Not a problem in park or drive but it worries me in reverse. We'll see you guys tomorrow at Morraine State Park
