I don't generally like round headlights on the festiva but that looks pretty bangin. probably because there's no grille to make the lights look goofy and recessed. of course, just my opinion. looks awesome there though!

Put our family stickers and the Escort dome light on Babystiva. Planning on swapping the alloys off of green car onto Babystiva sometime this week in hopes of finally breaking into the 30s in MPG. Got 29.8 adjusted for the 13s, but thats the highest she's been.

I spent 2 hours on the phone and no one in Canada had anything, the parts car is a baby with only 70 000k so I should be ok, so far so good.

Today I added 1 litre of oil, dam you leaky seals!!

this morning I got some longer bolts for my stand, and got the engine in the air.

This afternoon I rebuilt my aspire calipers and then put on aspire outer tie rod ends and we'll see how close I got the alignment...

tomorrow will be brakes, reinstall a couple things in the engine bay, replace the IAC, check the alignment and hopefully be done with this swap! (until I get coilovers hehe)

Swapped out the cable on the floor/defrost/vent selector on the hvac controls. It was broken. That's a relief. Especially with the seasons changing. I had it stuck on vent for a month or so which was fine for daily a.c. use. But It has been rainy and cool a couple of times lately.

Got my rear strut tower bar welded in. It definitely make the rear of the car more responsive and and allows for a little more induced oversteer. We cut out the seat brackets and welded in mounting points for the horizontal bar. It will be a 3 point when it's done but for now just a 2 pt. Still need to miter cut the lower tubes and fit them, then weld them to the top tube.

Also started thinking about my new airfilter setup for my weber 3236 carb. I'll be going from a cold air intake setup to a topmount style with a scoop. We've had a ton of rain this season and the threat of hydrolock is ever present. When it's finished it will even have a cable operated flap that I can close from the driver seat (like a real rally car).

Finally cut out the quarter panel on the parts car. Lined it up on the Bullet and marked where I need to cut the bad section out.

very nice M3NTAL! Your festy is so clean, I love it!

I just got my B6 on the engine stand but now I'm about to go pick up my wife. So I turned the engine over for a second...tempted to pull the oil pan...and then coolant drained out of the spark plug holes on cyl 1 & 2 (or 3 and 4...it was 2 in sequence).

I'm not surprised though...I mean, the head gasket is full of RTV lol poor suckers
