You should really check into that then!

My lowest fill up (out of 66 fills) was 41.4 mpg, and I had to really try to get such a bad number (bad compared to my other numbers). So there is something going on with yours if you are getting your BEST at under 40mpg!

    How do you drive it?
    Are your tires inflated properly?
What speed are you running on the HWY?
Might your E-brake be slightly engaged while driving?
    Bad bearings?
Do you have a sail on the roof? (that one was a joke, lol)

    Best MPG yet!

Just filled up after my trip to 2012 FL. meet. Drove across FL. from west coast to east coast & back , & around town on a single tank. 36.9 MPG

B8ME. Out of a '90 Protege. Only 93K miles. Whoever owned it took really good care of it. The car it came from was in nice shape. If it wasn't T-boned in a wreck, the owner probably would still be driving it

Picked this up a couple of weeks ago.

It went in this past weekend.

I'm still sorting it out, but it runs REAL good!

    Pulled the engine

Pulled out the engine/tranny a day ago, having blown the head gasket by overheating without any rad fluid (hole in the rad). Now I have to figure out why the frame seems to be twisted. ... Well I know why, since I barrel rolled it twice, but I mean where the twist is, and then sort out if it can be pulled out. A bit of a sad race weekend on March 3 and 4.

I took the rear brakes apart (both sides) and that is when I found out that I need new drums, and then I spent an hour or so trying to get the parts that didn't move anymore to move.

This is the second brake job this past two weeks (I have two festivas, a 91 and a 93).

Finally got to drive it around for a bit. Having some issues with it idling really high...but other than that it's driving like a dream. Getting about 31.5 mpg, though...ouch.

Got crazy today, hit up the JY and scored an Aspire compressor with lines and tensioner for $33. The low side line is off of a '94 Protege, I'm not down with the Aspire line that runs all the way to the DS, then back across the firewall. I guess someone was smoking a little crack when they designed that. Got everything put onto Green Car but I still need to slot the bolt holes for the Protege line where it bolts to the compressor. The orifice fits perfectly but the bolt hole is about a 1/16" off.

I also yanked the engine out of FestEvil and started swapping everything over onto the block and head that I just finished rebuilding. Still need an intake gasket, and my flywheel and clutch from zoomzoom should be here on Thursday! Can't wait to have him back together with a 5 speed finally! Was another productive day in festivaland again

Found one issue with my, lately, been running badly, car. Yay!
Seems I have multiple issues, but I have found, and fixed one of them at least. It was a defective, new, disty cap.
The contact for the coil wire, inside the cap, where it touches the rotor, about fell out, when I pulled the cap to take a peek. It was crooked, and kinda leaning on it's side. No wonder it was sputtering.
