    • Pretty much tore apart the parts car. Transmission is out, rad support removed to be transplanted into the white car, right rear spindle removed and shipped. Looking forward to getting the white car on the road so I can really get going on the B6T project.

        • Pulled the carboreator on the silver 88 gonna but a gasket kit and clean it up this next weekend. It sat for a year with gas in it. Now it doesn't run very good. Then a set of plugs and wires and I'm off to the races..... hopefully

          • 88festiva, I recommend buying an Escort carb + an adaptor plate from Rocketman instead of fixing the stock feedback carb.

              • Put the 88LX door panels in my 91L, but didn't want to cut huge holes in them for door mounted speakers, so I ended up going back to the 4" dash speakers. Stupid Best Buy didn't have the 4" Pioneers I wanted, and didn't have the JVC DRVRs that I bought for the rear earlier this year. So I ended up having to get a cheapy pair of Boss 4", and all I can say is these things are weak compared to the JVCs, so much so that I had to balance the power more to the front so they sounded more even.

I still had to put screws through the door panels though for the power window switches. But at least I didn't have to cut a 6" hole in them.

Also cleaned up, and put the splitback rear seat into mine to replace the tattered crappy 90s non-splitback. Am I the only one who has noticed how much higher quality the 80s models were over the 90s models?

Just a bunch of little things that really add up.

Also I thought it was cool that the 80s defrost switches are lighted. I didn't notice it until last night. I wonder if the 80s rear wiper switches are the same?

Where did you buy yours? I bought mine and replaced them last summer from AutoZone, at the same time as a local friend. His snapped off today, and mine started making a loud racket today, looked and it's about to sheer. Coincidence? I think not!

I ordered the lower control arms for both sides right from advance auto. Had them in 2 days.. Figured I might as well do the other side before that side goes when I'm driving like the one side did. Don't want to kill another tire or roll the car.

Oh great... Lovely. Autozone control arms are Dorman with a Duralast sticker slapped over the Dorman sticker.

I installed Dorman control arms from rockauto earlier this year. I will just have to be mindful of them now. But heck, the ones I pulled off the car were Dorman as well, and they were on the car for a while because they were the ones that were on the car when I bought it.

I'll just be sure to put some quality ones on when these eventually fail.
