You should probably see your doctor about this problem.

In all seriousness, things are looking great! You're doing fantastic work, and I can't wait to keep seeing your updates.

The clutch alignment tool can be found at any local parts store. What you need to do is bolt your flywheel onto your engine. Next put your clutch in place and finger tighten the pressure plate. You then put the clutch alignment tool in between the clutch and tighten the pressure plate bolts the rest of the way. You can now take out the alignment tool.
This is a really simple process, just make sure you clean up your flywheel and pressure plate before using them with some brake cleaner and emery cloth. Good luck.

doesnt sound too hard. are alignment tools generic or model specific?

you can get one that will fit allmost all the cars out there... some times putting the clutch together and leaving the bolts a bit loos so the clutch can move if you push on it but not so loose that it will fall if you let go, you can put it on there and put the trans on and it should slip right in and then you take it off making sure not to move the clutch, then just tighten the bolts... then it SHOULD just slip right back on... but its a big PITA if the motor is still in the car... if it is i would just get the tool lol...

I always just eye it up to centrethe clutch, leave the pressure plate bolts a bit loose, put the tranny on the engine (without bolting it on) so the input shaft goes into the clutch, that will centre up the clutch plate, then i'll take the tranny back off, tighten the pressure plate bolts and away i go

im concerned about my clearance. about half an inch from the fram right now. i test fitted the tranny to make the mounts before i put the clutch on. im afraid with the clutch on, i wont have enough clearance to get the tranny back on.

is it safe to lower the drivers side of the motor a few inches so i can bolt the tranny up and then jack it up where it is supposed to be?

I know I need to remove the engine and trans together in my car to service the clutch. Not enough room in the engine bay. If you can drop the drivers side down enough to get the trans in then go for it. How far are you from dallastown? I'll be up that way this saturday and can give you a clutch alignment tool
