Yeah brave, when I replace the fuel lines next week I'm going to do just that. I noticed a few cracks in the line going to the fuel rail from the filter. Looks to be an original line as well.

I took the car around the block after replacing these components with Moog. Steering and tracking have improved greatly, but is still squirrley along strait aways. On ground with steering wheel centered, driver's side is slightly toe-in while the passenger is roughly zero. I'm gonna turn the tie rod out try again.

I dream of replacing the front springs/strut/hat with a newer set from 2 kia rios nearby. I'd like to do it before I got an alignment, but we'll see. Would a spring compressor be necessary if the suspension is unloaded for removal?

Install a metal one next time. It will have less chance of splitting compared to a plastic one.

Figured out my problem. Fuel gauge wasn't working.... driving it home, and I smell gas. Now the fuel filter split open. My festiva hates me. Lol.

Finally found my coolant leak. I didn't notice it sooner because the drip/spray never made it to the ground and was burning off in the narrow gap between the turbo and the block. Significant reduction in underhood temperatures and steam!

When I say power I mean the engine. It was acting like the vaf. Last time it did this, it would at least idle. Today I'm going to bring my tools and test a few things. When cranking, it spits and sputters. I have a see through fuel filter on it, and it does have gas in it, but I can't tell if its pumping or not. I'll check it out today.
