Fixed the speaker in my passenger door.

Also had a lifter tick this morning on startup, so the car is pretty much telling me to change the oil, but can't until I get paid.

Unrelated to the Festy, my Folk's Fusion needed new rear brake pads. Was down to metal on metal.
A bit surprised, I heard that rears don't wear down nearly as much fronts, and we just changed the fronts a few weeks ago, and the fronts were not anywhere near metal on metal, just down past the wear groove.

Also the passenger side caliper piston boot was binding up, which might have caused the excessive wear on that side.

My 89 carbed 4 speed had check engine light on solid. Found out it was code 09. After removing air cleaner, I got a better look behind the engine. I found a green connector had come loose and plugged it back in. No more check engine light!
Also I believe the car has an original air filter, made of metal and rusty and very dirty! Time for a replacement

I will say though, maybe it is just me, but since I change the stat, the car definitely feels like it has allot more pep, also the starter sounds like it is cranking faster.

Anyone think of any reasoning behind this?
The starter I was just acting up after the stat change, and wouldn't start right away since the coolant from the head spilled a bit on it, but tapping it with tool got it to crank, and I noticed right away it cranked way faster then before.

I just take a pair of snap ring pliers in a baggie sandwich bag into the yard. I unscrew the motor and remove the gear only. They usually don't charge for the gear. When they ask what it is, I tell them that it's just a gear. It doesn't show up on their pricing so they have to decide if they want to classify it as miscellaneous or just let me have it for free.

Can't say it is any better or worse then the 323 dual stage stat. Seems about the same to me.

The cooling systems in these cars are too big for these engines, even in the summer they take allot longer than a car sold today to get to optimum temp while idling.
Maybe step up with the big boys and do thermostat delete and go with a shutter system?
