Opened the garage door to show my buddy the turbo setup
I been working 12-14 hour days this week so I haven't had time to work on either car
Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some garage time

Paid for the tow bill... It'll be getting the engine yanked mercilessly soon.

Yesterday, brought #8 (Festevil) home.
Today, pulled the carb and head the rest of the way off.
Cleaning up the head.
The block and pistons were actually a lot cleaner than I expected them to be after sitting for a year with the head partially removed.
Looking forward to getting it fixed, if nothing else its giving me an excuse NOT to work on the Mitsu since its been getting me really really frustrated lately lol.

I replaced the ECU temp sensor a few months ago.
I was going to clean up the gauge sender for a more accurate gauge reading to better see how the engine is heating and cooling.
I am running rich based on exhaust smell. Sometimes very strong and noticeable in car in summer. And not gas tank fumes. I have been unable to correctly set my timing to ANY of the marks. I have reset and replaced the timing belt but still can't get things to line up between the pulley and cover marks. My car has great power and decent mileage, but I want to squeeze out every last drop.
Thanks for your help Plutonium.

You might want to check the temp sensor for the ECU which is on the passenger side of the intake manifold with a green connector. I don't know if it can be tested or even what the specs are, but it can cause poor MPG.
Have you checked the spark-plugs to see if it's running rich?
I'm assuming your driving a 5 spd.
Pics of grill block on the way, just have to upload them to photobucket!Last edited by Pu241; 12-01-2011, 01:08 PM.

My MPG is upper 30s.
Temp gauge would sit about middle in summer. Now it is usually around the bottom line of the arc. My heat is adequate.
Izzystiva however has very little heat and we have flushed the heater core.
That car also takes FOREVER to warm up according to the temp gauge. Doesn't get very warm when the car is moving, either.
I guess I will start with the temp sensor connector.
