What have you done to your Festiva today!?

Fixed the gas leak on the white one. A previous owner was apparently unable to remove the old fuel filter so ran a new hose from the back all the way to the engine compartment and installed an aftermarket screw together glass filter. That filter wouldn't hold pressure and would leak after the engine was shut off until the residual pressure was gone.

I removed that hose and filter, reattached the hard line, removed the old stock filter in its bracket, replaced with a new one, hooked up the hoses and fired it up.

Had it shipped from south Florida to Portland Oregon....yippee......can't wait for it to arrive.

I may have to bench bleed my master cylinder.

I let it run dry when I had the brake lines disconnected when swapping in the aspire beam. :cussing:

Luckily I still have the severed brake lines from the aspire beam that I can probably hook up to the master cylinder and bend the ends into the reservoir if I do indeed need to bench bleed it.

Rear Aspire swap is finished. Was disappointed that the hub rings for my wheels don't fit the aspire swap, but they seem to do just fine with out them, just makes it a bit more of a pain to mount the wheels. Still need to put the passenger, and rear seat back in, and all the rear interior plastics, but I just had to get it functional so I could get to work today.

Brake pedal feels just as spongy as they did before, that old stock master cylinder at work. :p But the ebrake works amazing well compared to the Festiva setup.

Once I get around to swapping the front brakes (Which will be loads easier lol) I will swap in a Escort GT Master Cylinder.

Took time and investigated why neither door would open from inside or out finally. I was able to remove the door cards with the doors shut with no problems. For those that say you cant hogwash! I found both lock cylinder rods popped off. Dad NEVER locked this car and I guess they had frozen up some so when I locked the car out of habit the stiff rods must of popped loose. Anyway some WD=40 and working has them free and now I can enter
So I turned my attention to the drivetrain.... Check of the oil was all I needed to do to know milkshake in crankcase isnt a good thing.. Oh well engine time.. Turned my attention to the shifter. I grab the handle and it goes down to the ground,, Guess its more than just bushings



Anyone have source for parts?

Milkshake oil is probably head gasket. Drop shifter. There are links to where to buy the bushing that surrounds it, and other fixes. SkeetersKeeper started a thread for an easy fix somewhere. I did it to mine before I had a case of drop shifter so I never will have it

Here is a Ford parts diagram showing the base part numbers. Ask E8BZ what he thinks is the proper prefix would be.

Isnt there supposed to be a clip ring somewhere in the assembly? I thought I read that somewhere on here. It comes back up snug but nothing keeps it from going down if I put any pressure on it. I know I can fab a bracket for it just wondering.

Yeah I suspect the hg also. The radiator has a slow leak so more than likely somewhere down the line it was run hot...

You could probably remove one of those two aux power outlets on that console, and get a button switch the same size and shape to pop in that hole, then you can get your ashtray back for keeping change in. lol

Hopefully solved my Oil leak.

The engine builder didn't use the two rubber gaskets on the pan, just lots of rtv.
