I am slow as dirt when it comes to working on a car. :p

But got the new waterpump installed, now it's just a case putting the engine back in time and putting everything back together. Somehow aluminum managed to mangle the end of the threads on the tensioner pulley bolt, luckily I found a bolt laying around that will work that's just a bit shorter.

If you moved them to a different folder on photobucket after you posted them here, that will break the links.

Last night the right rear brake shoe decided it had decided to give up, so I grabbed a couple new drums that I had bought from Festiva Fred,so into the garage it went, I pushed out the studs and re installed them in the new drums and ain't life grand we can stop again. If you notice in the second pic, I was using 3/4 drive 4" extension to push the studs in, no probably the best thing to use, but hey it's what I had at that moment.

Pulled them from an 89 Mercury Tracer wagon a couple of weeks ago.
I pulled the 4 rings but the front door handles had scratches on them so I only pull the two rear door handles.

Installed the Vent Visors today, I take them off for the winter, don't want them to get cold, brittle and brake.

Started on replacing the waterpump and timing belt on the BP.

Of course the crank bolt wants to be a mother f'er, even using the starter bump method it just refuses to budge, so i'm at a loss. I'll just change the waterpump, the belt still looks good, the waterpump is really what I am after.

But as I sit here and type this, I just realized I had the passenger mount disconnected, and the banging I was hearing was the engine lifting itself on the starter. I'll try again tomorrow with the motor mount bolted in so the engine can't move as much, and hopefully it will give. If not, I don't have access to map gas, so changing the belt would just be impossible.

Nothing, it's sitting at home until I can get an Alternator for it.

But been doing some research into engine swap potential for 96-97 OBD2 Aspires.
And I think I have found a breakthrough for BP swaps.

Now I haven't looked at the wiring schematics to compare them if they are electrically compatible, but I have found that 1996 OBD2 Miatas ECU uses the exact some connectors as the OBD2 Aspires.

If the wiring doesn't match up, it's just a case of swapping the wires around in the connector.

Then comes figuring out the sensors......
