Looks more like a Subaru Justy than a VW anything, really. I'm not going to modify the wheel caps because they're about $40 each, so I'll probably end up selling them, since I'm gutting the VW... but until I get nicer wheels, they're a lot better looking than the Aspire steels that I'm running now.
Got the suspension from the Golf MK2, about to grab the hubs and rear axle beam from the red Festiva and start cleaning everything up and getting it ready to paint/install. Gotta get some 4x100 wheels to do 'er up, which means new tires, which means that this is going to take awhile, since I don't have a job right now and have to spare money for "important" stuff like bills.
Also threw the hubcaps from the Golf onto the Festiva today. Doesn't look terrible, even though they have the VW logo on them.
I limped my car home for the last time today, the next time I drive it there will be a freshly rebuilt bottom end awaiting its arrival to the shop. A friend was selling his g/f 95 olds cutlas sedan for $500, has a few issues, but runs and drives fair. Nothing a few trips to Pic-a-part can't take care of. So ill be driving that while I wait on parts and the machine shop.
And then you can flip it for a profit after the Festiva is done. is that the plan?
