Moved it up to the Garage! Drove it through the neighborhood with no brakes or muffler, which got a lot of laughs from the locals. Had to push it at one point while cutting through the park, which resulted in about 10 kids yelling "I wanna help!" and rushing to assist me, LOL.
Once in the garage, I pulled the hood and seats, but not before flipping the backseat flat just to see it for myself. (Thanks, Neanderpaul. Didn't know it could do that, and I may actually keep it now.)
Next up, TONS of grinding and welding, than aspire swap.

Painted my hood (tooke 3 cans to get a decent coverage) I am not super happy with it but others say it doesn't look to bad (But i am use to a nice clean paint job sprayed in a nice clean booth) Atleast it is the same color.
All that is left is the fender (Bumper if i replace it), roof, and a few small touch up spots around the car.

pulled my cluster for the 2nd time in 3 days to try to resolve a shakey speedo needle... now it's nice and steady, but reads 10+mph too high at highway speeds (3000 rpm used to read 73.5 mph on the nose, now it's over 85 at the same RPM in 5th...)
short of replacing the speedo assembly, i'm not sure what to do... everything else on the unit is perfect.

I used Dawn Poer dissolver on the exterior of my motor, worked great. Thanks for the info.

The Last of Icetiva
I took Icetiva for a barrel roll the last day of the season, and crushed the front nose and twisted the frame quite badly. I thought it could be pulled straight, but the frame shop said it was the end, too much soft, ripped and twisted metal. And the cage and fishplating on old damage, was going to work against pulling it straight. So now the cage is coming out, then it can be put into a new shell. Today, I cut the tabs between cage and car, and cut the roof off. There will be a new one some day.

I've been known to travel to other counties and raid their walmarts..
I almost got my tranny back together, gotta torque the primary aNd secondary shaft locknuts and put 5th gear cover on good. I used "the right stuff" that damkid was telling me about. Also fitted a 2002 KIA Rio clutch cable to the bracket. I had to cut a little piece of rubber off but it fits perfect. I don't know if ill be qble to use the stock bracket or not after the top mount goes on, but we'll see what happens.

Don't worry about letting it sit overnight. If it dries up just soak it with water and let it sit for a few minutes, it will soften back up and wash off. I've let it sit overnight on excessively dirty combustion chambers, exhaust runners, and 5 spd transmissions with great results.
5 bottles? 13 bottles? Pshaw! When I go to Walmart I take my arm and scoop the entire shelf into the cart! I'm sure whoever is stocking is thinking I'm making meth with the stuff or something
Whenever friends come over to the shop they always ask "what's with all the blue bottles???"

Hey Paul just put a thin layer of power dissolver on and wait 30-45 minutes and spray it off. It doesn't do any good after an hour or so, it just gunks up and is harder to get off. You want a thin layer because you'll end up doing a few coats to get it spotless, but that stuff will make it shine like new!
I've been thru 13 bottles of dawn power dissolver cleaning my block and head and all the tiny parts that go with. Amazing results with everything IMO.Last edited by zoom zoom; 04-07-2012, 08:01 PM.

Thanks Chris! My goal is perfection! I really am hoping for 35mpg driven easy, 0-60 in 6.5 driven hard, and 100,000 trouble free miles. I'll be happy with that.
