Installed a aspire brake booster, and escort gt master cylinder today. The brakes feel great now. I also made some rallyarmor style mudflaps for the front. I would have preferred them in black rather than red, but I'm not one to turn down free parts.
Got my down pipe installed, flex joint, deleted cat, straight pipe to a 25 inch Cherry Bomb glass pack and then exiting out in front of the passenger side rear wheel. It is very loud, but sounds pretty good when I get on it hard. I will probably have to put another glass pack on to quiet it down or just leave it and get used to it. Lost a little low end torque but it picks up pretty quickly once revs build up. Pics tomorrow, its been raining all day.
Thanks! But, I was too slow and missed them, a friend of mine ran into my festy, when it was parked in the driveway, with his big dodge diesel pickup and smashed the bumper, put a dinger in the fender and smooshed the little strip of metal under the headlight, so I need one of those too for the left side. I just ordered a stock replacement front bumper cover off ebay. I need something to get the car on the road so I can get it ready for FM5.
I've been pretty busy and it's almost harness time, which I figure will consume at least a week. Have the EVTM for both the festy and the capri and lots of heatshrink, solder and terminals galore and several Ford/Mazda harnesses and of coarse the most important part, all of you who have been here before!
Dropped the down pipe on the BP to find no flange gasket at all, no wonder it was leaking so bad and so loud. Went and bought a gasket and some new nuts and now its much quieter and drives a lot better. One of the studs broke off when I tried to remove it. Started drilling it out but it got too dark so I'll have to finish tomorrow.
Finished up the BP, just needs a downpipe. Then gave the exterior a nice wash, restored my fading bumpers again. The rule is, of course, it has to rain shortly after this is done. Always does. >_> Anyway, I drove it a bit. Now I'm regretting that I didn't do the Aspire swap first. This thing has barely any grip, even worse when the roads a little wet. So much fun though lol.
